I won't lie, I was pretty scared I would get a crappy cord for such a cheap price, but I thought why not and bought the thing.Turns out it was a great purchase. The cord works great and the S-video plug in (Main reason I bought it) Works great and the pixels are crisp, clean, and colorful.I've only used the cord for my SNES, but i'm sure it works just as well with the N64 and GC.I'm playing my Super Nintendo games on my 40 inch Vizio HDtv and they look FANTASTIC. I'm extremely satisfied with the audio and video quality and have been happy playing classics since I bought it.If you are having any doubts about this, I hope I could put them to rest, or at least help to do so.Bottom line: The cord works great, it does exactly what is intended, the build quality is nice and as far as cables go, its a good one. There's not much to be said here. These cables work with the SNES, N64, and Gamecube. They give you one composite-video output, one S-Video output, and two analog audio outputs (L / R). They ship in a nice box with a sticker advertising the Kids in Need Foundation in the bottom left corner. Of course, they're manufactured in China, and are, as a result, very "plastic-y." This shouldn't matter, since they'll probably be hidden behind your console and television anyways.Oh, and the video quality is great. I can't see any difference between this cable on S-Video versus another (slightly more expensive) cable on S-Video, coming from the same game.I was looking for a new S-Video cable for streaming my Gamecube games, as the previous 2 were of very poor quality and produced negative results.Well, it looks like I'm out of options, because this, too, has terrible shielding and Chroma/Luma interception producing a horrid dot crawl and unwatchable video when using Composite and S-Video simultaneously. If you're looking for a cheap way to watch something with S-Video alone with any of the consoles advertised, go ahead and buy this if you don't care about dot crawl and bright flashing colors. If you want a better cable, I can't help you, because I have not found a single seller that knows what they're doing.I wanted to order this to be able to record videos of my Nintendo Gamecube or just play on my television screen, I saw how cheap it was and read the positive reviews so I decided to buy it. I arrived shortly and I tried using it on my television. It was completly black and white. Then I tried plugging it in to another television, it was in color but it had red and blue lines running across the screen, as if in 3-D. I then tried it on my computer and it was also black and white there. Overall this would have gotten five stars if it played in color. It goes through S-video and it works with the N64, Gamecube, and Snes. S-video gives you a better picture than regular composite, but not quite as good as component. If you have a SNES or N64 this is your best bet because you can't get component cables for those.Makes sure you're careful when you put the S-video cable in the TV; there are little pins in it that are easily bent with a little bit of clumsiness.Very poor quality cable. Do not buy this one. It took a ton of fiddling with it to get it to work. I did get it to work on my TV with my SNES, and the S Video was a massive improvement over Composite Video, but right out of the packaging this cable has an internal wire that is either broken or not secured well. If you wiggle the cable, or even look at it the wrong way, the video will cut in and out on the TV, or go from crystal clear to having cross hatched lines. I ordered a new cable from a different company. Hopefully the next one is better.Got these for hooking up a gamecube/n64 to a converter box that outputs to hdmi. There was a slight blur, more noticeable in some games than others with the standard composite cables. Switching to this and using the s-video gets the output just a notch better, with considerably less noticeable blurring. This is a great buy if you want to hook up consoles to a more modern display device through s-video.If you are buying to use as a composite connection these will work fine. I was setting up my console so I could record gameplay and needed the s video part of the cable. Didn't work at all.
