This game has beautiful visuals, nice music, and an initially interesting battle system, but it has some serious problems, namely:1) The game only takes 20+ hours because your movement speed is slower than a snail and there is a loading screen every minute. You know a battle is starting because a loading screen appears. This is a beautiful game, but it isn't hyperrealistic graphics so why does changing any screen require loading? It shouldn't have to load this much. And when most of the game is running from point A to point B, it was literally the main restriction for why it took so long.2) The world is very small and the boat/dragon mechanics only exist as setpieces for story reasons which is very obvious. There aren't any special things to explore or learn about that need them. It misses the mark entirely on why people always get hyped for new transport methods in old JRPGs.3) The story ultimately falls flat both by being so short but also by falling into some of my least favourite tropes with needless deaths and by leaving unanswered questions. I can tell it is trying to tell an emotional story and they chose some great voice actors, but I was not engaged by it. We didn't spend enough time with anyone for most things to matter to me enough and the banter between characters falls kind of flat too in that we never actually see them doing the things accused of.4) Only two of the bosses are actually 'hard' later on and only because they have unreasonable abilities they can spam over and over and over. The time aspect of combat honestly loses its purpose after a certain point as well as some bosses are immune.I feel like this game had potential but was not fleshed out or rounded out enough. Also, the amount of times the voiced lines didn't match the text was inexcusable, especially when the text itself was incomprehensible a couple of times late into the game. A couple of mistakes can slide but I noticed well over 10 instances of this and one voiced part was significantly longer than what was written. The dialogue itself was one of the good aspects, but it is held back by these mismatches.I found it disappointing because it had a lot of potential and some creative ideas, but it was not as fun or as good as I wanted it to be.
